I have bipolar disorder, and in my 8 years of therapy the biggest shift has come from learning to hold logic and emotion as equals, even when it’s inconvenient (or maybe especially then!)

So, a heart, and a brain, in wax, sitting on top of a candle that burns exactly the way all other candles do. That's the point: normalising this balance and refuting the idea that it's better to prioritise "facts over feelings".

(I did go back and forth about whether 'person with bipolar disorder makes therapy candle' was a label I wanted attached to our handmade small business – whether that's honesty or more emotional-sales pitching. I landed on: it's both. But this is such an important part of this brand and this candle, that leaving it out wouldn't be fair.)

This candle is special because the concept has never really existed before: hand-sculpted wax miniatures of a heart and brain, anatomically-accurate and modelled after the real thing

We chose warm colours to add the fun brightness that's sorely missing in the pastel minimalist wellness spaces (and skipping the Halloween aisle vibes).

Both embeds melt fully into the wax as the candle burns. We built it this way on purpose: it burns exactly the way any of our other candles do, start to finish, no special handling required. The point was never to make something precious you're afraid to light. The point was to make something ordinary enough to actually use.

Handmade in small batches, our wooden wick candles use a natural, vegan wax blend of Soy, Coconut, and a small percentage of food-grade Paraffin.

The wooden wicks elevate both, the feel and the sustainability quotient, because they burn slower, releasing less soot and smoke than regular cotton wicks.
Bonus: A gentle, soothing crackle for ambience!

We also research and rigorously test all our ingredients for safe longterm use (especially since I’m handling and inhaling these scents regularly in the making process!)

They are free from harmful phthalates, mutagens, and other known dangerous chemicals and toxins (list).

How the Recycling Program works:

1. Select the "I Have Candles To Recycle" option at checkout.
   
   
2. You will receive your candle order with an additional shipping box and label.
   
   
3. Put your used candle jars/containers in the box and stick on the label.
   
   
4. Drop it off with the selected shipping partner (USPS, UPS etc), and you're done!
   [You can also choose a direct drop off with us if you’re in NYC]

We'll take it from there, cleaning and prepping the containers to recycle at our local plant.
